A forest expedition by Karolina and Fox Rudzika

A forest expedition by Karolina and Fox Rudzika
Carol loved going to the woods behind her house. She lived on the edge of town, where just beyond her garden stretched green groves full of singing birds and rustling leaves. Her mother often told her not to venture too far, but Karolina was curious about the world and every trip into the woods seemed to her the beginning of an adventure. One sunny afternoon, as the light filtered through the leaves and painted luminous patches on the soft moss, Karolina heard something unusual. A fox appeared on the path in front of her. It had red fur, a fluffy tail and shiny, clever eyes. The girl froze, but the fox did not run away. On the contrary, it came closer and then spoke in a quiet, slightly hoarse voice: - Hey, Karolina! Karolina looked deep into the forest, which suddenly seemed less familiar and more mysterious. She felt her heart beating faster than usual. - What should I do? - she asked in a whisper. - 'We'll go up to the big oak together just after dusk. You must see it with your own eyes,' Rudzik said, and in his voice you could hear both anxiety and a hint of hope. Karolina nodded, feeling emotions she had never experienced before. After only a moment, they were walking together along the forest path, surreptitiously watching every rustle and every shadow. When the first stars appeared in the sky, they finally stood in front of a large oak tree. There was a silence all around, which grew with each passing second. Suddenly, an unfamiliar sound came from the darkness and a pair of glowing eyes emerged from the thicket....
