Ada always considered her grandmother's kitchen to be the best place in the world. Here it smelled of cinnamon, fresh bread and old cookbooks. But that day, she discovered something much more unusual. After lunch, her grandmother asked Ada and her younger brother Maks to help her clean up. Ada eagerly began to wipe down the worktop, while Maks played under the table. Suddenly, something knocked under the cupboard. - Did you hear that? - Maks whispered. Ada looked at her brother and then at the cupboard. The door was slightly ajar, and right next to it was an old, almost forgotten drawer. It was so dusty that Ada had never noticed it before. - 'Maybe Grandma hides sweets in there,' muttered Maks hopefully. - Or magic ingredients! - Ada smiled broadly. She had always believed that her grandmother knew magic, even if she claimed it was just an old kitchen. Ada reached into a drawer. Hardly had her fingers touched the handle when the drawer... slid open on its own. Inside lay a strange notebook entwined with a thin, silvery cord that gently glittered in the light. - Wow... - whispered Maks, making big eyes. On the cover of the notebook was a map. There were kitchen utensils drawn there, but not in the order they stood now. There was a big clock next to the pot, a mysterious portal marked with a spiral in place of the fridge, and a blurry figure with a raised hand in the middle. - Do you think this is... a treasure map? - asked Maks, squeezing his sister's sleeve. Before Ada had time to answer, the notebook opened itself to the first page, and the letters began to form words. Words that began to glitter gold and float in the air, right in front of the noses of the amazed kids. Would they dare to read the first sentence of the puzzling message?
