Clock in the Old Workshop

Wiki enjoyed spending her summer holidays in the countryside, especially since her cousin Maks moved in with his family in his great-grandfather's old house. This summer, they found something that made them forget the boredom. One rainy afternoon, seeking shelter from the downpour, they took refuge in a workshop that had been closed for years. It smelled of dust and old wood, and light came in through a dirty window, casting eerie shadows on shelves full of tools.
In the middle of the workshop stood a huge, bizarre clock with a black pendulum. Wiki noticed that instead of the usual numerals, the dial had symbols reminiscent of signs from old maps. Max, curious as always, tried to turn the dial underneath the dial. Then something unusual happened: the clock started ticking louder and louder and the walls of the workshop lit up with a golden glow.
When they opened their eyes, they saw that the workshop had disappeared and a thick, green wilderness hummed around them. The sounds of unfamiliar birds echoed, and in the distance they could see the strange silhouettes of people dressed in leather tunics and headbands with feathers. Maks squeezed Wiki's hand.
- Where are we? - whispered the girl.
Suddenly, a boy in strange clothes emerged from behind a tree, holding a wooden bow. He looked at them with interest, but instead of being frightened, he beamed a wide smile.
- Are you new to the village? - He asked in Polish, albeit with a strange accent.
Wiki and Maks exchanged glances. Suddenly they realised that the clock was not with them.
- What now? - whispered Wiki, feeling the tension rising as the mysterious boy moved even closer to them.
