It all started on the last Friday in May, when something very unusual happened at the school Pod Kasztanem, an ordinary school in the town of Czerwonka. Olek, Lena and Max were inseparable. They sat together in a desk, did homework together and made up all sorts of jokes, most of which only they laughed at. Their school had long corridors full of strange nooks and crannies, a cellar that smelled of old books and a big old clock that was always late. One day, just after the bell rang for the big break, Lena whispered: - Come on, I'll show you something in room 4C! Olek and Max looked at each other in wonder, because room 4C was always locked and shrouded in all sorts of stories. However, curiosity proved stronger. Lena tugged on their sleeves, and when they got there - the door was ajar. Inside, there was semi-darkness. In the middle of the classroom stood an old trunk. Lena opened it, and then.... Something strange began to happen. An enticing glow spread through the classroom, and the air trembled slightly. Suddenly Olek felt he could see through the closed lid of the trunk, as if he had radiant vision. Lena, stretching out her hand, caused the chair to squat down on its own.
