Guardians of the Star Trees

Susie and Michael have always been curious. They lived on the edge of an old forest, about which strange stories circulated. Everyone in their village knew that when night fell, only animals were allowed into the forest. But one June evening, when their parents went to a long meeting with the neighbours, the siblings decided to do something they had long dreamed of doing: go into the forest after dark.
Torches in hand, jackets thrown over their pyjamas and the door quietly closed - this is how their expedition began. As the sun disappeared behind the horizon, the forest took on new life. The gentle chirping of crickets mingled with the rustling of the leaves beneath their feet. Everything looked different, a little scarier, but also more exciting.
After a few minutes of walking, Susie noticed something special - in front of them there was a tree whose bark was strangely silvery and whose branches twinkled with tiny lights resembling miniature stars. Michael was stunned.
- Can you see it? - Susie whispered, pointing to the tree.
- 'I've never seen anything like it, Susie,' replied Michal, cautiously coming closer.
As he touched one of the branches, the lights suddenly shone even brighter, and from the crown of the tree came their voice, quiet as a breeze:
- Guardians... you have come just in time...
Susie and Michael looked at each other with wide-open eyes. Suddenly, a figure emerged from behind another tree - tall, wearing a cloak woven from leaves, with eyes shining like the moon. The mysterious stranger said:
- If you really want to become guardians of the Star Trees, you must pass the test of courage. Time is short - the forest is waiting.
At that moment, more glowing trees appeared around them and the path led deeper and deeper into the darkness. Would Susie and Michael dare to venture further, not knowing what awaited them?
