Invisible Powers Club

Primary School No. 7 on Starry Street looked ordinary only from the outside. Inside, secrets hid around every corner - although no one expected the biggest of them to reside in Room 6B. It was there, one rainy Monday, that five students gathered: Lena, Kuba, Wojtek, Zosia and Amelia.
Lena had red hair and loved to draw monsters. Kuba always carried a DIY kit in his pocket and Wojtek knew the timetables of all the trams in town by heart. Zosia laughed the loudest in class and Amelia read more books than their Polish teacher.
It was the day before the annual Talent Day. Class 6B was in a bit of a panic - no one wanted to perform in front of the whole school. Lena, as usual, was painting something in her notebook when suddenly the crayon started to move across the page by itself, drawing a wonderful portrait of their maths teacher. The girl froze. "That's... not me!" - she whispered.
Meanwhile, Cuba, trying to push the textbook cabinet, discovered that it wasn't at all as heavy as usual. In fact, he had moved it about a dozen centimetres with one finger. Horrified, he looked around to see if anyone had noticed him - but only Wojtek was looking at him with wide-open eyes.
Wojtek, in turn, noticed that in his head the mathematical equations were lining up by themselves and the answers were appearing before he even had time to read the question. Each of them felt as if something unusual had begun to happen.
What was even stranger was that as soon as they met during the break, their strange abilities began to intensify each other. While making her colleagues laugh, Zosia discovered that everyone who heard her joke suddenly felt as if they were surrounded by a bubble of happiness - even the geography lady stopped crooning!
Amelia, excited by it all, sat down in the library in front of a pile of books - and within minutes had absorbed all the biology material that usually took her a week. Suddenly she felt she could associate things she had never read about in her life.
In the afternoon they secretly gathered in an old warehouse behind the gymnasium. No one pretended that everything was normal anymore.
- 'I think we have superpowers,' Lena said quietly.
- But from where? - Kuba asked.
- And why now, just before Talent Day? - wondered Zosia.
Just at that moment, a strange metallic rasp sounded from the old loudspeaker above the door, and the lights started flashing. The five friends looked at each other with trepidation, and from the school corridor came... quiet, disturbing footsteps.
