Zosia was pressing her teeth against her toothbrush, pacing restlessly at the washbasin in the school bathroom. Next to her was Kuba, who was just finishing rinsing his mouth with water. They had both stayed at the school after lessons because they were preparing for a competition for the best poster on oral hygiene. There were quiet cleaning sounds coming from behind the wall, but suddenly everything went quiet and the light in the bathroom began to pulsate strangely. ‘Kuba… do you see that?’ whispered Zosia, pointing at the mirror. Shiny silver circles began to appear on its surface, and after a moment a tile in the floor slid aside, revealing a winding staircase leading downwards. ‘Wow! Maybe that’s where they hid the super toothpaste?’ joked Kuba, but they were both clearly excited. Without further ado, they went inside. The stairs were as slippery as smooth glaze and smelled slightly of mint. At the end of the stairs was a huge door on which someone had carved an inscription: ‘Welcome to the Land of Toothpick. Watch out for the Toothpick!’ Zosia and Kuba looked at each other in disbelief. On the other side of the door, they saw a world like a fairy tale – houses shaped like teeth, a river flowing with toothpaste, and strange miniature figures in white aprons battling purple, giggling monsters. Loud laughter could be heard in the distance. On a hill stood a dark castle, with black smoke billowing out of its tower. ‘It must be Próchniak’s castle!’ whispered Kuba. ‘Do you think he wants to attack this world?’ Suddenly, something fell out from behind a bush – a round, brush-like creature with glasses on its nose. ‘Help us! The Toothblower is planning to consume the whole of Toothblowerland! Only someone from outside our world can save us…’ Zosia and Kuba looked at each other with concern. They heard a growing rumble from the castle…
