Mystery in the Old Orangery

The school on Acacia Street had always seemed a bit boring to Nina. However, that all changed one Monday when, during a nature lesson, the teacher told her about the old, almost forgotten, school orangery. Apparently, the plants there grew more luxuriantly than anywhere else, and some said that a mysterious light oozed from the orangery at night.
Nina couldn't stop thinking about it all day. After lessons, she and her friend Julius decided not to go home straight away. Instead, they crept behind the school, where the ornate iron gate of the orangery - locked with an old, rusty lock - was hidden among the bushes.
- 'Maybe we can find the key in the secretary's office? - whispered Julek, nervously correcting his glasses.
- Or let's try to get in through the window! - Nina could already feel her heart beating faster.
As they made their way around the conservatory, they spotted a tilt-up window at the back. After a while, squeezing through it, they smelled wet earth and something that reminded them of a forgotten summer.
Inside, there was semi-darkness. Plants grew everywhere, their leaves reaching up to the ceiling. But most strange of all were the sounds - rustling, some quiet squeaking and a sudden stirring in a corner. In the middle of the conservatory stood an old wardrobe, from which a soft, pulsating light emanated.
Nina took a step forward, swallowing her saliva with fear but also excitement. Julek grabbed her hand. The air was sparkling with excitement. What was in the wardrobe? Should they look in there?
Then... something knocked from inside the wardrobe.
