Mystery Room Number 7

Leon loved libraries. The smell of old books and the rustling of turning pages made him shiver with excitement. This summer he had a special companion - Zosia, his cousin, who had come to visit him from afar. The two of them spent their days between the shelves of the old city library, finding the strangest stories and drawing maps to imaginary lands. One Tuesday afternoon, as the sun flashed through the colourful stained glass windows of the reading room, Leon noticed something strange. At the end of the corridor, where he had never looked before, he saw a narrow, dark blue door with a brass number "7". More strangely, this door did not appear on any of the library maps he had prepared. - Zosia, look! - he whispered, pointing at the door. Zosia ran up to it, and her eyes shone with curiosity. - Do you think it's allowed to come in here? - She asked. Leon shrugged his shoulders. - 'I don't know, but after all, libraries are for seeking adventure. They gently turned the handle. The door gave way with a quiet creak. Behind them was a small, circular room filled with strange objects: globes with shining seas, a chest full of feathers from the wings of unknown birds, lamps hanging from the ceiling that glowed in the colours of the rainbow. The walls were covered with moving pictures - trees that swayed in the wind, and mountains with clouds moving across the peaks. Suddenly, a quiet ticking sound came from behind them, as if someone was winding a huge clock. Zosia took Leon by the hand. At the heart of the room, on a pedestal, lay a huge book bound in blue velvet. On its cover was an inscription that changed every time they blinked. - Should we open it? - Zosia whispered. Leon was already extending his hand to the book when a quiet whisper sounded, cutting through the silence of the room: - Only those who believe in the power of imagination will know the secrets of Room Number 7.... Before they had time to do anything, something amazing began to happen in the room....
