The library that whispered riddles

As soon as the summer holidays started, Lena and Bartek couldn't believe that they would have to spend them at great-grandmother Eugenia's house. For them, her house on the edge of the forest was full of nooks and crannies, creaking stairs and things that seemed to remember the time of the dinosaurs. But the biggest secret was the old library in the attic.
The books, the atlas, the globe, the shiny telescope, even the mighty cuckoo clock looked there as if they were waiting for better times. Great-grandmother often told them not to leave the order there overnight, but the children saw nothing wrong with that. Until one evening, when daylight began to disappear outside the window, Lena heard something unexpected.
- 'Oi, that boy left me open in the rain! - squeaked a poetry volume thinly on a high shelf.
Bartek shook his eyes. - 'Did you hear that?
Lena nodded, trying to hide her horror, but the most incredible thoughts were already beginning to form in her head. In the corner of the library, the globe murmured quietly:
- If you could read foot maps, you would have found us long ago!
The children froze. After a moment, a gruff, thick voice rang out from a pile of old magazines:
- Shh! Be silent if you don't want to attract Mr Telescope's attention!
It was then that Teleskop, who had been standing quietly by the window until then, began to slowly turn his head-lunette towards his siblings. In the dimming light it looked as if it was about to speak. Lena and Bartek held their breath. Above them, the pendulum of the clock trembled and hundreds of old books stopped humming. There was a silence so thick throughout the library that they were both afraid to break it.
Then, the Telescope leaned very low until the children could smell the old metal:
- If you want to know the answer, you must find the lost page. But beware... not all objects want to be found.
And then, from behind the bookcase, there was a rustling sound - as if something or someone was moving right next to them. Lena and Bartek looked at each other with growing anxiety....
