The Lost Book of Arda

The Lost Book of Arda
The sun was slowly setting behind the big trees as Lena, Kuba and Sara glided around the school playground on their skateboards. Usually their biggest highlight was secretly getting the last slice of pizza in the shop, but something special happened that afternoon. As Sarah was trying to break a new speed record, she suddenly hit a rock sticking out from under a bush with her wheel. She fell, but immediately got up, shaking off her knees. The stone looked completely different from the rest - dark green, with strange markings carved on it, which glittered slightly in the setting sun. - Hey, look! - she called out. Lena and Kuba came closer. - 'Looks like some ancient thing,' muttered Kuba, crouching down. Lena moved her hand over the sign. The stone trembled under her fingers and suddenly the ground caved in slightly, revealing a small hollow under the foundation of the old, forgotten wing of the school. Sara took a step back. - Seriously, maybe we shouldn't... But Lena was already dawning the torch on her phone. In the hollow shone a stone step leading steeply down into the darkness. The three friends looked at each other. They knew they had no choice. - 'Right, let's go in! - whispered Kuba, although his voice was clearly trembling. Lena was the first to set foot on the cold step, followed by Kuba and finally Sara, who, although she was scared, did not want to be worse. It was chilly underground. The stairs led to a narrow tunnel where the walls were decorated with luminous, swirling patterns as if painted by an invisible hand. The deeper they descended, the stranger the sounds they heard - hushed whispers, the snapping of what looked like branches, and even something that sounded like distant laughter. Suddenly, a massive wooden gate loomed up in front of them. It looked like a door to another world - one touch would be enough to open it. But an inscription appeared on its surface: "Enter if you wish to learn the magic of Arda." Before they had time to take a step, the floor and walls vibrated. Light flashed from within the gate, bringing the drawings on the walls to life. Golden birds began to swirl in the air and plants sprouted from beneath their feet, smelling of unfamiliar flowers. As Lena was about to open the door, they heard a quiet voice coming from somewhere behind them: - Only those who are ready may enter further.... At that moment, everything stopped - light, movement, even sounds froze. Would the friends dare to pass through the gate into the unknown world that was just revealing itself to them?
