In the heart of the Chattering Forest, where the largest oaks intertwine their branches and the sun's rays dance among the ferns, lived Jędrek the hedgehog. Jędrek was an exceptionally inquisitive creature - everything interested him, from the unusual sounds made by frogs to the mysterious patterns on the wings of butterflies. One morning, when the dew was still glistening on the grass, Jędrek went for a walk with his best friend, Rudek the squirrel. Rudek was usually very cheerful, but today something was clearly bothering him. - 'Last night I heard a strange knocking under an old beech tree all night long,' confessed Rudek as they approached the clearing. Before they had time to think about it, Klotylda the owl emerged from between the leaves, spreading her great wings. - If anyone is interested in a real adventure, they should take a look in the hollow under the old oak tree! - she called out and flew away as if nothing had happened. Jędrek and Rudek, excited, rushed to the oak tree. Deep inside the hollow, they discovered a rolled-up map with animal tracks and strange signs. Next to it lay an old, rusty key. - Is this... a key to something hidden in the forest? - whispered Rudek in disbelief. News of the find spread quickly. Soon they were joined by Hela the mouse, Bonifacy the badger and Filip the starling. They all agreed that they should try to find out where the map led. They set off just after breakfast. The path led through thick bushes, along the side of a murmuring stream and through an old clearing where crickets sang. Each of the friends had their own task: Hela noticed tiny paw prints, Rudek spotted another symbol from the map hidden under a leaf, and Jedrek carried the key, holding it carefully between his paws. Finally, they reached the place marked on the map with a large, shiny leaf. There, underground, they found a small door with a tiny lock. Jedrek's heart was beating like crazy. The adventure was becoming more and more exciting. Suddenly, a deafening growl and the rustling of leaves came from the bushes. The friends froze in stillness. Jedrek squeezed the key tighter and the rest of the animals held their breath. What was waiting for them on the other side of the door? And who or what had just emerged from the thick of the forest?
