The riddle of the Old Oak

In the heart of the Green Forest grew a tree so huge that its crown touched the clouds and its trunk was so thick that not even five squirrels could put their paws on it together. It was called the Old Oak. One morning, three friends met under the tree: the cheerful squirrel Kika, the brave owl Hela and the slightly clumsy but very clever mouse Fredzia.
That day, the forest silence was broken by a strange sound: "Tyk-tyk-klik! Tyk-tyk-klik!". Kika, always curious, was the first to run up to the trunk and notice the puzzling marks carved into the bark. They were some sort of markings resembling stars and arrows. Owl Hela tilted her head and sighed: "It must be some kind of forest cipher! Maybe someone is calling for help or has hidden something important here?".
Fredzia pulled out her favourite magnifying glass from her mink - a gift from an old detective mole - and began to examine the signs. "Look! There's another symbol here, hidden under a leaf!" - she squealed excitedly.
The friends quickly decided that they had to discover what these mysterious signs meant. They led deeper into the forest, towards an old clearing where no one had looked for years. Kika felt her heart beating faster - would they encounter a hidden treasure, or perhaps a lost forest spirit?
As they reached the clearing, they suddenly spotted a flash between the roots of a large juniper tree. But at the same moment, the forest was enveloped in a thick, milky mist. Kika stopped as if struck by it, Fredzia squeezed Hela's paw....
And then they heard a rustling and a quiet voice just behind them: "What are you doing here?"
