The Riddle of the Vanishing Stars

The night in Polanka was always quiet and full of stars. However, when Antek, Zosia and Philip went out into the backyard to check out the new comet through the telescope, they noticed something strange. Several stars were missing from the sky, which just the day before had been shining just above their old oak tree.
- Can you see it? - whispered Philip, staring at the empty space between the Big and Little Carriage.
- Maybe the clouds? - suggested Zosia, but the sky was absolutely serene.
Antek swallowed his saliva. - Or... something had taken them away.
The next day, all three met in front of the school. An advertisement caught their attention: "Magic Trick Show! Today only! Magus Aurelius invites you to the old theatre!"
- It's the building that closed down years ago... - said Zosia, wrinkling her eyebrows. - I've never been there.
They decided to go. The interior of the theatre smelled of dust and mystery. A short man in a purple cloak and a wide hat appeared on the stage. His eyes shone like stars.
- 'My tricks are unlike any other,' said Magus Aurelius, looking straight at Antek. - Today you will see real magic.
The light went out. Light spheres flashed in the darkness, and the children felt something strange happening around them. Suddenly, one of the lights sailed right past Philip and disappeared into the magician's sleeve.
- Do you want to discover what happened to the stars? - they heard a mysterious whisper.
At that moment, everything around them began to whirl and the floor under the children's feet seemed to move apart. They felt that something was about to happen that they would never forget....
