The Secret of the Shining Forest

The sun peeked lazily through the dense foliage as Maja and Tim wandered along a path deep into the Shining Forest. They lived not far away, but had never ventured this deep before. Grandma's stories of enchanted trees and singing foxes seemed like mere fairy tales - until now. Timek carried a small compass that constantly pointed north, although the path winded in every direction. Maja looked around carefully, on the lookout for something unusual. At one point her gaze was caught by a glow reflecting off an old stone. She walked closer and suddenly called out: - Look, Tymek! I think there is something hidden here! Under the moss and leaves was a stone slab with strange signs carved on it. As soon as they touched it together, the ground beneath their feet trembled slightly, and right in front of them two mossy trees spread out, forming a perfectly circular gate. Behind it stretched a meadow like they had never seen before - the grass shimmered with all manner of colours, and luminous butterflies the size of their hands floated in the air. The siblings looked at each other and wordlessly entered through the gate. On the other side, everything seemed different: the air smelled sweet, quiet whispers could be heard in the background, and from a nearby grove ran out a white-furred rabbit with little blue wings! He stopped beside Majka, looked deeply into her eyes and spoke: - I have been waiting for you. You are the chosen ones. You must help find the Lost Light before the eternal shadow falls. Suddenly, the forest around them lit up with flickering balls of light, and a deafening, disturbing sound came from the distance. The siblings clasped hands, unsure of what awaited them now....
