The Underground City of Light

It was a quiet, peaceful summer in a small town where twelve-year-old twin brothers, Tom and Tim, lived. They were inseparable and their favourite pastime was to explore the unknown nooks and crannies in their little world. One day, while hanging around in the woods outside of town, they came across an old, rusty gate entwined with vines. Behind it was a cavernous entrance that seemed to lead deep into the earth. The brothers looked at each other with understanding. This was something they couldn't just ignore. They took a deep breath and entered the cave. Inside, it was unimaginably beautiful. The emerald walls reflected a soft light that seemed to flow from an invisible source. Unexpectedly, they stumbled upon a mysterious settlement made of tiny, glittering stones; it seemed that this tiny world had never known darkness. Intrigued and amazed, the brothers moved on, their reflections dancing on the glittering walls. The further they walked, the more they explored. They spotted magical creatures that looked like small skylights, but were the size of their hands and had miniature wings. The brothers also came across ancient carvings and inscriptions that seemed to speak of an ancient, forgotten kingdom. Suddenly, they came to a huge chamber. In the centre was a huge, illuminated crystal that seemed to pulsate and emit a warm, coloured light. They realised that this crystal was the source of the light that illuminated the entire underground city. Everything was beautiful, but something told them that this chamber was hiding some kind of secret.... Just when they were about to investigate the crystal, the ground began to shake. The crystal began to pulsate at a faster rate and its light became brighter and brighter. The brothers looked at each other with fear in their eyes, not knowing what to do....
