It all started on Monday morning at eight o'clock, when Maks, Ida and Bartek entered the school science laboratory. The smell of old textbooks mingled there with the aroma of paint and a a slightly suspicious shade of mould that floated in the corner of the room. Well, as it is in school - not everything can be predicted. It was the end of the year. Mrs Wiesia, the teacher, announced that today would be "Crazy Experience Day". The children could bring anything from home and come up with an experiment together. Maks brought a clay making kit, Ida brought her great-grandfather's hat (supposedly a lucky one) and Bartek.... Bartek brought a plastic flamingo he once found in the bushes outside the school. - And now it's your turn, imagine the scientific madness! - Mrs Wiesia welcomed them, handing out pink-rimmed safety goggles to everyone. Maks stirred the coloured liquids until something started bubbling and hissing. Ida put her hat on the test tube as a joke. Bartek, instead of blowing through the pipette, inadvertently snorted the yellow liquid into his nose and sneezed so loudly that the plastic flamingo fell to the floor with a bang. Then something strange happened. From a mixture of glop, hat and.... a bit of Bartek's breakfast (which had accidentally fallen into the flask during the fight with the sandwich), leapt out into the middle of the table.... a bizarre figure! It looked like a muddy snowman with one eye, a merrily crooked hat and a plastic flamingo instead of a hand. The guest uttered the first words: - Who ordered the golem-burger? The children first froze, then burst out laughing. The golem, for that's what they all called him, started marching across the room, leaving slippery footprints and.... sometimes a piece of cucumber. Suddenly, the golem bent down, skewered his hat on the floor and pulled out what looked like a miniature map leading to an unknown destination. The golem smiled broadly and started muttering something under his breath, and the map trembled in his muddy fingers. The children looked at each other with exasperated eyes. What should they do now? Should they follow the golem and his mysterious map? At that moment, the Golem opened the door to a dusty old storeroom beneath the studio - and strange sounds came from inside....
